*1 Watercourses that are buried or covered over.*2 E■orts to restore water flow into rivers and irrigation canals that once lost water by discharging treated sewage and other water into them.＊1 埋設したり、ふたをかけたりした状態の水路＊2 かつて水を失った川や用水路に下水処理水などを放流することで、水流 を復活させる取り組みかつて長期にわたり渋谷川の上流部は暗渠化＊1されていましたが渋谷駅南街区土地区画整理事業に伴い、まちづくりと一体となった潤いのある都市空間を形成するため、清流復活水＊2を活用し水量を増やすなど良好な河川環境が整備されました。あわせて河川上空の広場や遊歩道空間も新たに整備され、地域の新たな憩いの場となる潤いとにぎわいが感じられるリバーストリートが2018年9月に供用開始されました。渋谷駅の南側から代官山・恵比寿方面にもつながり、にぎわいが広がる広域的な回遊ネットワークが実現しました。201981年の渋谷川渋三さくら祭稲荷橋広場現在渋谷川ライトアップ徒歩橋付近River Street: Shibuya River with Liveliness and VitalityIn the past, the upstream part of the Shibuya River was culverted*1 for a long time, but with the Shibuya Station South District Land Readjustment Project, a favorable river environment was created by utilizing purified water*2 to increase the water volume, in order to create a lush urban space that is integrated with urban development. In addition, a plaza above the river and promenade spaces were newly developed, and River Street, a new place of relaxation, enrichment, and liveliness for the community, was put into service in September 2018. The area is connected from the south side of Shibuya Station to Daikanyama and Ebisu, creating a wide-area circulation network that enlivens the area. We will continue to maintain and sustain the favorable environment through area management activities and events in cooperation with the community.潤いとにぎわいの渋谷川 ＜リバーストリート＞
