Limited Foreign Registration Services

In order to ease some of the registration procedures, Shibuya City will avail limited services on Wednesdays (during extended hours from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.) and some Sundays to those who cannot come in during the weekdays due to work, etc. We are not possible to provide services which require confirmation with other governmental agencies or municipalities.
Also, depending on the content of your request, we might have to ask you to come in again. Please, therefore, call and inquire prior to your coming.

• Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. (excluding national holidays and the end and beginning of the year)
• Sundays (irregular) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Please check "Available Dates"as below)

New registrations and transfers from other municipalities are not accepted.

• Receiving your Foreign Registration Card
• Application for changes in registered matters (changes in address moving in from other municipalities cannot be handled)
• Change of address (within Shibuya)
• Application of confirmation (renewal)

* Please visit on a regular weekday if we have to confirm details with the governmental agencies or municipalities.

* Please remember to bring your foreign registration card, passport, personal seal registration card, etc.

* If you are applying for confirmation/renewal, please bring your photos.

* For those who need the certificate of local tax payment or tax exemption, we can only issue to those who have paid the local tax or filed the tax, respectively, and has had the residence in Shibuya as of the 1st of January.
